Acceptable Use & Anti-Spam Policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
What you may and may not do when you use Outtricks to contact people by email, on LinkedIn and Upwork, and by phone, which controls the platform applies on every send and call, and what happens when the rules are broken.
01.Who This Applies To
This policy applies to every Organization and every member using Outtricks, however the action is started: in the app, through the API, from an Outtricks Chrome extension, by a workflow or by TRIXIE. It forms part of our Terms of Service. You remain the sender of every message and the caller on every call placed for you.
02.What Is Permitted
Outtricks is built for business-to-business outreach: contacting people in their professional capacity, about something relevant to their role, where you have a lawful basis to contact them, such as their consent or a legitimate interest that the law of their country recognises for business outreach.
03.What Is Prohibited
You must not use Outtricks to:
- contact people from purchased or rented consumer lists, or contact private individuals outside their professional role;
- contact anyone who has unsubscribed, asked not to be contacted, or is on a suppression or do-not-call list, or try to get around a suppression, for example by importing the same person again under another address or through another Organization;
- use deceptive or misleading subject lines, or a false or misleading sender name, address, phone number or identity;
- send commercial email without a working unsubscribe link;
- send phishing, malware, or anything designed to collect passwords or payment details;
- promote adult content, gambling, cryptocurrency scams or other fraudulent investment schemes;
- send illegal content, or harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
- break the laws that govern outreach, including CAN-SPAM, the GDPR, the CCPA, Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and do-not-call rules.
04.Your Responsibilities
- Have a lawful basis for every person you upload, unlock or contact, and be able to show what it is.
- Honour every unsubscribe and do-not-call request, and keep your suppression list current.
- Include a valid postal address for your business in every commercial email, for example in your signature.
- Keep your bounce and complaint rates low: send to addresses you have reason to believe are current, and stop when people ask you to.
- Identify yourself and your business truthfully in every message and on every call.
05.Email
Outtricks applies these controls to the email it sends for you:
- Every campaign email, every one-to-one email sent from the CRM, and every Master Inbox reply to someone you have emailed through Outtricks carries an unsubscribe link and the one-click unsubscribe headers mailbox providers use (
List-UnsubscribeandList-Unsubscribe-Post). Using either adds the address to your suppression list straight away. A Master Inbox reply to mail that is not tied to anyone you have emailed through Outtricks goes out without them. - Your suppression list is checked before every send; a suppressed address is never sent to.
- A hard bounce or a spam complaint adds the address to your suppression list and lowers the sending inbox’s health score. An inbox whose score falls to 50 or below is paused automatically.
- A campaign that has sent at least 20 emails in the last 24 hours pauses itself when its bounce rate passes its threshold, 2% unless you set another.
06.LinkedIn And Upwork
You connect your own LinkedIn or Upwork account, and actions run as you, from your session. You must follow LinkedIn’s and Upwork’s own terms. Both restrict automated activity, and either may limit or close an account it considers in breach; Outtricks cannot prevent that. Do not connect an account that is not yours or that you are not authorised to use. Your suppression list is checked before LinkedIn actions as well.
07.Voice Calls
Every outbound call — from a voice campaign, a one-off call, a workflow step or TRIXIE — passes the same checks before anything is dialled:
- Consent. A call is placed only to a number for which your Organization has recorded consent (its basis, such as express written consent or the person’s own request, and any evidence), and only while that consent has not been revoked. Outtricks records the basis you state; it cannot check that the consent is real, and that remains your responsibility.
- Do-not-call. A number on your Organization’s suppression or do-not-call list, or on Outtricks’ platform-wide suppression list, is never called. Outtricks does not screen numbers against national do-not-call registers, such as the US National Do Not Call Registry or the UK’s TPS and CTPS: checking those is your responsibility.
- Calling hours. Calls are placed only between 8 am and 9 pm in the time zone of the person being called. Their zone is taken from their CRM record, a zone you state, the number’s own country or area code, or a fallback zone you chose for the campaign. If it cannot be worked out, the call is not placed; where a number could be in more than one zone, the call waits until it is within hours in all of them. A campaign can narrow these hours but never widen them. Stricter state or national rules on hours, weekends or holidays are not applied automatically and remain your responsibility.
- Recording. A call is recorded only when its assistant has a recording disclosure, and that disclosure is the first thing said on the call. An assistant without one never records.
- Attempts and pacing. A campaign stops calling a number once its attempt limit is reached, and never places more calls in an hour than you allow.
- Every check, passed or refused, is written to your Organization’s audit log.
08.Enforcement
Some protections act on their own, without notice: suppressing an address, pausing an inbox or a campaign, or refusing a call. Beyond those, if we believe this policy has been broken we may limit sending, pause campaigns or connected accounts, or suspend the Organization under section 07 of the Terms of Service. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
09.Reporting Abuse
If you received a message or a call through Outtricks that breaks this policy, tell us. Include the message with its headers, or the number that called you and when, so we can find it.
